The gin incorporates carefully selected Uji Gyokuro and Tencha teas, alongside classic KI NO BI botanicals including yuzu, hinoki, sansho pepper, red pine, and akamatsu. The botanicals are divided into six flavour categories—base, citrus, tea, herbal, spicy, and floral—and distilled separately before blending to achieve a precise and harmonious final spirit.
Bottled at 45.7% ABV, KI NO TEA is aromatic and refined, with a pronounced green-tea character balanced by fresh Japanese citrus and gentle peppery spice.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Crystal clear and brilliantly transparent.
Nose:
Delicate aromas of fresh green tea, yuzu, juniper, hinoki, pine, citrus peel, and subtle floral and herbal notes.
Palate:
Smooth and elegant with distinctive layers of gyokuro and tencha tea, complemented by fresh yuzu citrus, juniper, sansho pepper, pine, and delicate herbal flavours. The tea contributes a refined umami character and silky texture.
Finish:
Long, clean, and subtly savoury with lingering green tea, citrus, juniper, pepper, and gentle woody notes.
