The Louis Roederer Hommage à Camille Les Charmonts Rouge 2022 is an exceptionally rare Coteaux Champenois still red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir. It comes from the Charmont lieu-dit in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where Louis Roederer identified a tiny 43-are parcel with a sunny exposure ideally suited to producing a mature, concentrated expression of Pinot Noir.
Part of the Hommage à Camille collection, the wine pays tribute to Camille Olry-Roederer, who led the Champagne House from 1932 to 1975. The collection explores Champagne's terroirs through still wines rather than traditional sparkling Champagne, offering a rare glimpse into the potential of these vineyards beyond their better-known sparkling expressions.
After harvesting, the Pinot Noir grapes are gently left to infuse before the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, where it continues to integrate and refine over approximately a year. The result is a sophisticated and highly limited Pinot Noir with ripe red fruit, floral complexity, subtle savoury notes, silky tannins, and a distinctive saline finish.

Complex and elegant aromas of ripe blood orange, black cherry, red berries, forest fruits, peony, cocoa bean, dried leaves, and subtle smoky, savoury notes.
Palate:
Velvety and concentrated with juicy red fruit, ripe cherry, blood orange, wild berries, and delicate floral nuances. The texture is silky and refined, supported by fresh, rounded tannins and vibrant acidity. A subtle saline and umami character adds further depth.
Finish:
Long, precise, and savoury with lingering red fruit, cocoa, forest floor, spice, saline minerality, and fine tannins.
