The Masi Amarone Riserva Costasera della Valpolicella Classico 2018 750ml is a prestigious Riserva expression of Masi's renowned Costasera Amarone. Produced in the historic Valpolicella Classico area of Veneto, this wine showcases the richness, concentration and complexity associated with traditional Amarone.
The wine is made from carefully selected grapes that undergo the traditional appassimento process, where the grapes are naturally dried for several months to concentrate their flavours and aromas. The wine is then given extended ageing, allowing its concentrated fruit, oak and savoury characteristics to develop greater depth and harmony.
The 2018 vintage offers an elegant combination of ripe dark fruit, dried cherries and plums with layers of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and sweet spice. Its full-bodied palate is balanced by vibrant acidity and refined tannins, giving the wine both richness and structure.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Deep, intense ruby red with garnet reflections.
Nose:
Complex and expressive with aromas of Amarena cherry, ripe plum, dried berries and raisins, layered with dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco and subtle balsamic notes.
Palate:
Full-bodied, rich and velvety with concentrated flavours of black cherry, Amarena cherry, dried plum and dark chocolate. Refined tannins provide structure, while balanced acidity maintains freshness. Notes of coffee, vanilla, tobacco and sweet spice add depth and complexity.
Finish:
Very long, warm and persistent with lingering dark cherry, dried fruit, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and delicate balsamic nuances.
