Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2016 is a distinguished vintage rosé Champagne that reflects the Cellar Master's individual interpretation of the 2016 harvest. As the house's 46th vintage rosé since its founding in 1743, this cuvée showcases the balance between Pinot Noir's expressive fruit, Chardonnay's freshness and Meunier's supple character.
The 2016 growing season brought challenging weather, including a wet winter, a rainy spring and frost, followed by a dry summer. Despite these conditions, the harvest produced expressive red-skinned grapes that became the backbone of this rosé. The blend comprises 43% Pinot Noir, including 13% red wine, 42% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier.
After blending and secondary fermentation in bottle, the Champagne matured for approximately six years in the cellars, followed by at least six months after disgorgement. Its dosage of 5 g/L places it in the Extra Brut category, giving the wine a dry, precise profile while allowing the ripe berry fruit and floral aromas to shine.
The result is an elegant, expressive rosé with aromas of crushed strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, complemented by rose, hibiscus, violet, gingerbread and cocoa powder. The palate is supple and harmonious, with fresh berry flavours and a delicate, lingering finish.
