Mollydooker The Maitre D Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 750ml is a rich and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from Mollydooker's Lefty Series, sourced from vineyards in McLaren Vale. The wine is named after Sparky Marquis, who worked as a left-handed waiter to put himself through winemaking college.
The 2020 vintage was produced from a challenging growing season with low yields but favourable ripening conditions. Mollydooker reported that the resulting fruit showed high flavour concentration, full body and vibrant character.
The wine delivers a generous combination of cherry and blackberry, developing into notes of liquorice, cigar box and mocha. Despite its concentration, the palate is described as soft and smooth, with the fruit and structure working in balance.

Colour:
Deep red and purple with an intense, youthful appearance.
Nose:
Rich and expressive with aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry, followed by liquorice, cigar box and mocha.
Palate:
Full-bodied and concentrated with generous cherry and blackberry fruit. Layers of liquorice, dark chocolate, mocha and subtle savoury herbal notes add complexity, while fine tannins provide structure.
Finish:
Long, smooth and warming with lingering dark fruit, mocha, liquorice and subtle oak nuances.
