Montes Taita is the pinnacle “Super Icon” wine from Montes Wines. Produced in extremely limited quantities from the prestigious Colchagua Valley. Crafted under the direction of Aurelio Montes, this wine represents the highest level of precision winemaking and vineyard selection within the estate portfolio.

Each vintage of Taita is carefully composed, primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, with small proportions of other varieties selected depending on the year’s harvest quality. Aged extensively in new French oak, it is designed to deliver depth, structure, and remarkable longevity, making it one of Chile’s most collectible fine wines.

This is a powerful yet elegant wine built for long-term cellaring, offering complexity, finesse, and a multi-layered sensory experience.

Tasting Notes

Colour:
Deep ruby red with dense, concentrated core

Nose:
Highly complex aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, plum, and cassis layered with tobacco, cedar, mocha, dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted oak, and subtle spice

Palate:
Full-bodied and structured with deep concentration of dark fruit. Firm yet polished tannins support layers of blackcurrant, cocoa, espresso, and sweet spice, balanced by fresh acidity and oak integration

Finish:
Exceptionally long and elegant with lingering notes of dark fruit, cocoa, cedar, and subtle mineral tones
