Opus One 2014 750ml is an iconic Napa Valley red wine from Opus One Winery, produced in the prestigious Oakville AVA. Founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, Opus One combines the winemaking traditions of Bordeaux with the distinctive character of Napa Valley.

The 2014 vintage was an exceptionally early vintage for Opus One, marked by the earliest bud break in the winery's history. The growing season was characterised by timely rainfall and mild, dry conditions, with harvest beginning on 5 September and finishing on 7 October. The estate noted an ideal balance between freshness and concentration at harvest.

The wine is composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Malbec. Following 20 days of skin contact, the wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak, contributing structure, depth and subtle spice.

The resulting wine displays expressive aromas of fragrant florals, fresh garden herbs and forest floor, developing into concentrated flavours of red cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate is silky and structured, with fine-grained tannins, baking spice, black olive and a long, vibrantly fresh finish accented by mocha.
