Opus One 2018 is an iconic Napa Valley red wine produced in Oakville, California, from the estate vineyards of Opus One Winery. Created from the vision of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, Opus One represents a blend of traditional Bordeaux winemaking philosophy and the distinctive character of Napa Valley.
The 2018 growing season benefited from consistent weather and moderate temperatures. Although the beginning of the year was dry, timely rainfall before budbreak supported healthy canopy development. Harvest began on 19 September and continued through 25 October, allowing the fruit ample time to achieve full ripeness.
The final blend is dominated by 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The wine underwent 18 days of skin contact and was aged for 17 months in new French oak, contributing structure, depth and refined oak complexity.

Colour:
Deep ruby with an intense, concentrated appearance.
Nose:
Expressive aromas of blackberry, cassis and black cherry, followed by elegant notes of violet, white pepper and rose petals.
Palate:
Fresh and juicy black fruit forms the core of the palate, layered with orange zest, liquorice and dark chocolate. Smooth, rounded tannins and fresh acidity create a soft, creamy texture.
Finish:
Long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, liquorice and dark chocolate nuances.
