Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red 2022 is the flagship red wine of Pahlmeyer, presenting a powerful and sophisticated expression of Napa Valley mountain terroir.

The 2022 vintage is built around 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Fruit was sourced from several distinguished Napa Valley vineyard sites, including Upper Range, Waters Ranch, Round Pond, Stagecoach and Vangone.

The wine opens with lifted aromas of green and black peppercorn, tobacco leaf and forest floor layered over macerated cherry, blackberry and plum. As it develops in the glass, black licorice, chai spice and cocoa emerge, adding savoury and exotic complexity.

On the palate, the wine is expansive, concentrated and full-bodied, with mouthwatering acidity supporting the rich dark-fruit core. Finely structured tannins are already beautifully integrated, creating a luxurious velvet texture through the mid-palate.

Aged for 18 months in 90% new Taransaud French oak, the wine combines concentrated Napa fruit with toasted oak, spice and subtle chocolate character.

The result is an elegant yet powerful Bordeaux-style blend with remarkable depth, structure and ageing potential.
