Planeta Chardonnay The 13th Harvest Edition 2023 is a special limited-edition release celebrating the legacy of one of Sicily's most iconic white wines. Since its inaugural vintage in 1994, Planeta Chardonnay has become synonymous with the transformation of Sicilian fine wine, demonstrating that the island can produce world-class, barrel-fermented Chardonnay. This commemorative edition features exclusive packaging while containing the acclaimed 2023 vintage, sourced from the renowned Ulmo and Maroccoli vineyards in Menfi DOC.

Produced from 100% Chardonnay, the grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness before undergoing gentle pressing and fermentation in French Allier oak barriques. The wine is matured on its fine lees for approximately 11 months, with regular bâtonnage to enhance texture and complexity. A carefully balanced selection of new, second-use, and third-use French oak barrels preserves both richness and freshness, creating a Chardonnay that is opulent yet remarkably elegant. The 2023 vintage is widely praised for its purity of fruit, vibrant acidity, and outstanding ageing potential.

Brilliant golden yellow with exceptional clarity.

Nose:
Intense aromas of ripe yellow peach, apricot, acacia honey, citrus blossom, vanilla, toasted hazelnut, buttered brioche, marzipan, and subtle mineral notes.

Palate:
Rich and creamy with layers of ripe stone fruits, baked apple, citrus zest, honey, toasted oak, roasted nuts, and delicate buttery notes. A vibrant mineral backbone and refreshing acidity provide superb balance and elegance.

Finish:
Long, refined, and persistent with lingering flavours of peach, vanilla, toasted almonds, fresh citrus, and elegant oak spice.
