Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Cicala 2016 is one of the flagship single-vineyard Barolos from the legendary Poderi Aldo Conterno estate in Monforte d'Alba. Sourced exclusively from the historic Cicala vineyard within the prestigious Bussia cru, this exceptional Barolo is crafted from Nebbiolo (Lampia and Michet clones) grown on calcareous marl soils rich in limestone and iron. The mature vines, averaging 40–45 years of age, produce fruit of remarkable concentration, structure, and complexity, resulting in a wine that is revered for its balance, longevity, and profound expression of terroir.

The outstanding 2016 vintage is regarded as one of the greatest in modern Barolo history, combining exceptional ripeness with remarkable freshness and precision. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October before undergoing a traditional 30-day maceration in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to large Slavonian oak casks for extended ageing, allowing the powerful tannins to integrate while preserving the purity and elegance of Nebbiolo. The result is a majestic Barolo with remarkable depth, aromatic complexity, and extraordinary ageing potential that can comfortably evolve for three decades or more.
