Poggio Antico Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 2009 750ml
Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2009 is a prestigious expression of 100% Sangiovese from one of Montalcino's most highly regarded estates. Situated at elevations of 480–570 metres above sea level, Poggio Antico is among the highest vineyards in the Brunello appellation, where the combination of altitude, excellent exposure, and rocky galestro-rich soils produces wines renowned for their elegance, freshness, and longevity. The estate follows a sustainable viticulture philosophy, allowing each vintage to reflect the unique character of its terroir.
The 2009 vintage benefited from a warm growing season, producing ripe, expressive fruit with generous concentration while retaining Brunello's hallmark structure and balance. After hand harvesting, the grapes underwent temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel with extended maceration to extract colour, flavour, and fine tannins. The wine was then matured for approximately 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle ageing before release, resulting in a Brunello that combines depth, elegance, and exceptional ageing potential.
