Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 750ml

Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 is a refined and expressive Tuscan red wine produced by Riecine in Gaiole in Chianti. Crafted exclusively from Sangiovese, this Riserva showcases the estate's elegant and terroir-driven approach to Chianti Classico.

The grapes are sourced from organically managed vineyards situated approximately 450–500 metres above sea level, where limestone and clay soils contribute freshness, structure and aromatic complexity. The vines are approximately 25–45 years old, producing concentrated yet balanced fruit with excellent natural acidity.

The 2018 vintage was harvested by hand, with careful selection of the grapes before fermentation. Fermentation takes place in unlined concrete tanks, followed by approximately 15 days of maceration. The wine is subsequently aged for 24 months in large oak casks before bottling and further bottle refinement.

The result is a sophisticated Chianti Classico Riserva with expressive red and dark fruit, floral and earthy nuances, vibrant acidity and firm yet polished tannins.

Expressive and complex, revealing aromas of mulberry, red plum and ripe cherry, accompanied by violet, dried herbs, porcini, subtle earth and delicate spice.

Palate:

Full-bodied and structured with generous red and dark fruit flavours. Vibrant acidity provides freshness, while firm yet polished tannins create a refined and balanced texture. Savoury and earthy nuances add further depth and complexity.

Finish:

Long, persistent and savoury, with lingering notes of red fruit, dried herbs, subtle spice and earthy undertones.
