Schiopetto Pinot Grigio del Pompiere is a fresh and expressive white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, produced from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the estate's younger vineyards. The wine represents the youthful and fragrant expression of Pinot Grigio, showcasing the grape's ability to adapt beautifully to the Friulian terroir.
The grapes are harvested by hand between late August and early September and are pressed gently and rapidly to preserve the wine's characteristic pale colour and freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by maturation in stainless steel without oak.
The 2024 vintage displays a bright straw-yellow colour with delicate golden reflections. Aromas of exotic fruit, pineapple, lemon zest, green apple, peach and rosehip are complemented by subtle saline and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, savoury and pleasantly rounded, with a distinctive saline character and a clean, persistent finish.
