Speri Valpolicella Classico Superiore Vigneto Sant Urbano 2021 750ml

Speri Valpolicella Classico Superiore Vigneto Sant’Urbano 2021 is an elegant and complex Italian red wine produced from grapes grown in the renowned Sant’Urbano vineyard in Fumane, within the historic Valpolicella Classica area of Veneto. The vineyard is situated on a hillside at approximately 280–350 metres above sea level and is planted with mature vines.

The wine is crafted from Corvina Veronese and Corvinone, supported by Rondinella and Molinara. Following careful manual harvesting, the grapes undergo a traditional drying process for approximately 25–30 days, concentrating their flavours, aromas and natural softness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before the wine matures for 24 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and a further six months in bottle.

The 2021 vintage displays an intense ruby character with expressive aromas of ripe red fruit and aromatic herbs, complemented by spicy nuances. Its firm yet rounded palate combines elegant tannins, freshness and depth, making it particularly suited to rich meat dishes and mature cheeses.

Broad and expressive, showing ripe red fruit, Amarena cherry, violet and aromatic herbs, with subtle mocha and spicy nuances.

Palate:
Elegant and structured with lively acidity, concentrated red and dark fruit flavours, fine-grained tannins and subtle mineral and spicy characteristics. The palate is complex, balanced and refined.

Finish:
Long and persistent, with lingering red fruit, aromatic herbs, spice and mineral notes.
