Talisker Bodega 40 Years Single Malt Whisky is an extraordinarily rare and highly aged expression from the iconic Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Known for its maritime character and signature peppery smoke, Talisker reaches an exceptional level of refinement after four decades of maturation.
“Bodega” editions typically refer to sherry-seasoned cask influence, suggesting that this ultra-aged release has been matured or finished in carefully selected fortified wine casks, adding layers of richness, sweetness, and complexity to Talisker’s classic coastal profile.
After 40 years of slow maturation, this whisky develops extraordinary depth, where intense maritime smoke softens into elegant wisps, allowing rich fruit, oak spice, and coastal minerality to harmonise beautifully.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Deep antique gold with amber highlights.
Nose:
Subtle coastal smoke, sea spray, dried figs, dates, orange peel, polished oak, vanilla, leather, and sherry richness.
Palate:
Incredibly complex and silky with layers of salted caramel, dried tropical fruits, black cherry, dark chocolate, old oak, warming spice, and gentle peppery smoke. Exceptionally balanced and refined.
Finish:
Extremely long, elegant, and evolving with lingering maritime salinity, soft smoke, dried fruit sweetness, and antique oak spice.
