Uggiano Petraia Merlot di Toscana IGT 2020 750ml

Uggiano Petraia Merlot di Toscana IGT 2020 is a rich and expressive Tuscan red wine made primarily from Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced in Tuscany, it combines the generous fruit character of Merlot with the structure and depth contributed by Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks with an extended 18–22 days of skin maceration at controlled temperatures of 26–28°C. It is then aged for 16 months in French oak barriques before continuing its maturation for a further 12 months in large 30-hectolitre oak casks. The wine is subsequently held in stainless steel tanks before bottling and receives additional bottle ageing.

The result is a full-bodied and velvety red wine with a deep ruby colour and complex aromas of ripe red fruit, sweet spices and subtle oak. The palate is rich, rounded and generous, with ripe fruit, gentle tannins and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Full-bodied, rich and velvety with flavours of ripe plum, dark berries and subtle chocolate. Soft yet structured tannins provide depth, while oak contributes gentle vanilla and spicy notes.

Finish:
Long, smooth and pleasantly persistent with lingering ripe fruit, spice, vanilla and lightly tannic notes.
