Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 2016 750ml
Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 is a classic expression of one of Tuscany's most celebrated appellations, crafted exclusively from 100% Sangiovese Grosso by the historic Villa Poggio Salvi estate. Located in the heart of Montalcino, the estate has built a reputation for producing elegant, terroir-driven Brunello through traditional winemaking and extended ageing in large Slavonian oak casks. The vineyards are situated between 350 and 500 metres above sea level, with south-west-facing slopes and galestro-rich marl soils that provide ideal conditions for producing wines of exceptional elegance, structure, and longevity.
The legendary 2016 vintage is regarded as one of the finest Brunello vintages of the modern era, thanks to a long, balanced growing season that delivered outstanding fruit concentration while preserving freshness and aromatic precision. The grapes were harvested by hand before undergoing an 8-day cold pre-maceration at 12°C, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then matured for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by bottle ageing prior to release. The result is a Brunello that perfectly balances power, elegance, vibrant acidity, and exceptional ageing potential.
