Wildmoor 40 Years Black Mountain is the pinnacle expression of the Wildmoor collection from William Grant & Sons, representing an extraordinarily rare 40-year-old Blended Scotch Whisky inspired by the dramatic black mountains of northern Scotland. Created by renowned Master Blender Brian Kinsman, this luxurious blend is drawn from William Grant & Sons' extensive private reserves of exceptionally mature Scotch whiskies, including rare Highland malt whiskies, aged grain whiskies, and precious stocks from now-silent ("ghost") distilleries. The whisky is then finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks, adding remarkable richness and depth.

Aged for four decades and bottled at 46% ABV, Wildmoor Black Mountain delivers exceptional complexity while maintaining outstanding balance and elegance. Tasting Notes

Colour:
Deep mahogany amber with brilliant copper highlights.

Nose:
Rich aromas of vanilla, caramel, orange peel, dried apricot, raisins, polished oak, dark chocolate, fruitcake, and subtle sweet spice.

Palate:
Luxuriously smooth and full-bodied with layers of vanilla fudge, caramel, dried figs, dates, orange marmalade, toffee, roasted nuts, cinnamon, clove, and indulgent Pedro Ximénez sherry richness. Complex grain whisky sweetness is beautifully balanced by mature Highland malt character and elegant oak.

Finish:
Exceptionally long and warming with lingering cinder toffee, dark chocolate, Brazil nuts, sweet oak, dried fruits, and gentle spice.
